Minutes of June 2002 Meeting

Moore Digital Services was represented by a very knowledgeable Alyssa Hodd and colleague Eric Stevenson. The hour long discussion gave some highlights. Moore Digital offers THREE packages...Base...Straight copy DVD  for $49.00..Economy DVD for $99.0....Deluxe for $139.00....Moore Digital prides itself as being  a  “totally invisible vendor”....the DVD’s can be customized with the videographers’ logo. Turnaround time on the Deluxe package is 3 working days. Copies from any of the above packages are only $9.00. Moore Digital is always updating their equipment and technical services to ensure the best service for their customers. They provide a list of compatible DVD players on their web site. Also using thermal discs which allow for better printing on disc face. Thank you Moore Digital for donating one of the DVD players to our association.

Dan Strickler..A Weva Award Concept Winner...provided a humorous yet informative view into ...”What we needed to Know about F.Stops...” The 20 minute video showed how ....F Stops....Shutter Speeds....and the use of Gain control...can be effectively used. The use of slow shutter speeds and how it effects image motion...The use of gain and how it could relate to film speed in a film camera...The use of aperture control to obtain depth of field. Written and edited by Strickler, the excellent video provided humour, technical aspects and an array of special effects. Conclusion...We all agreed that a DVD with chapter points would be the next logical step. Thank you Dan, and Dave Hall.

Jim Monroe of Video Law. Shooting video depositions. Set up  of camera position, use of microphones and audio mixer . How he obtains assignments and how much he charges were covered in this very informative presentation. No editing involved and time date stamp on tapes were needed. Audio cassette always recorded on site. He uses the sony dvcam 300 which he says, provides excellent image quality. Thank you Jim
