Ms. Diana Janos, Panasonic JVC300U Camera
Ms. Janos gave a detailed demo of the camera and its functions coupled with a PowerPoint presentation highlighting JVC’s new entry into the digital acquisition market. An unusual feature is the mpeg4 streaming adapting which converts video to a streaming file in almost real time. The camera is a 3-chip mini DVD and has excellent low light capability.

Bill Cafarelli, VideoArtWorks, CT, Photoshop/DVD Bill Cafarelli, a WEVA award winner, gave a presentation of Photoshop and how it can be used in making DVD menus. DVD clips showed us some of his latest projects; “Lady Liberty” in particular was very well received. Selected highlights, such as the use of motion for still frames and masking images was of great interest.

Robert Knowles, Knowles Video, Streaming Video
Robert Knowles demonstrated how he is able to “stream video” on the Internet. Use of Internet companies on the web has allowed Robert to harness the power of the Internet. The DVD movie Showed how this can be done.The meeting was concluded with the nomination of Robert Knowles as secretary, and Al Ritondo as vice –president. The next meeting will be held on June 5, 2002 at The New Yorker Hotel.
