Minutes of September 3, 2003 Meeting
The President, Al Ritondo opened the meeting with introductions of three new members and the guests.

Al was given an opportunity to use the new JVC-HD Camera while in Las Vegas this August. He showed the camera and a discussion ensued with the group “Are We Ready For HD?” Since this is such an important turn in our industry we agreed to begin to clip and save articles to report back to the group what we learn in the journey. We'll have a what's new in HD Segment at upcoming meetings. In addition, JVC will be sponsoring an upcoming meeting so we'll have more information soon.
Show Us Your Stuff Segments included:
· A demo reel by DP Linda Stewart, which contains some clips from a feature film and somee documentary work she has done.
· Tommie McAuley showed us his new FISHEYE Lens that he purchased as a result of attending ae WEVA Seminar On Demo Tapes by Mike Jenson.

· Ben Zolno showed some clips from an in-camera edit for a wedding he shot and talked about the features on the Sony PD150 that helps him shoot in-camera.

· Moshe Yuda showed a tape he put together for a Fundraising Dinner to expand a Shul (Temple).

· Michael Angelo played a tape from There You Have It. It was a Music Video he put together of a group from the 60’s & 70’s called Vanilla Fudge, using old and new footage which was edited on the DPS Velocity System.
· Next up, our Vice President Alick Samuels showed a Special Interest Video he put together “The Art of Posing” a Body Builders Training Video which he has converted to DVD and discussed the aspects of DVD Production that make this type of project a perfect fit.

· Kathy Ritondo played a Park Segment Lip Sync Music Video, shot with a Sony 300, a Sony 500 and a Sony PD150 from a wedding and discussed bringing the best out of the bridal party and wedding day planning.
We began the WEVA Wrap-up in a seminar by seminar breakdown and had so much information that we had to hold it over for the next meeting. In addition, we decided that the Show Us Your Stuff segments, will be limited to three to five minutes so we can see the work and still have time for the rest of the meeting. We said good-bye to another member who is leaving us for Orlando, Mr. Tommie McAuley will be back to visit but is moving to Florida.
The contract exchange and discussion has been postponed to next meeting, October 1, 2003 to afford more people the opportunity to participate in the exchange. Also in October will be nominations for the board. If you would like to help out, or take a more active role please let us know. Elections will be held in November.
Motion to Adjourn by John Johnson at 11:20pm, seconded by Andy Levison.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kathy Ritondo
